Supreme Court Launches IT-Based Systems |

ADDIS ABABA August 6, 2007- The Federal Supreme Court has launched Information Technology (IT)-based systems as e-litigation, interactive messaging and the judicial ongoing system that help disseminate reliable and credible court information to citizens. At the launching ceremony held on the premises of the Federal Supreme court yesterday, Court President Kemal Bedri said the main objective of the Supreme court is to ensure the rule of law based on popular legitimacy through accessing the citizen to court information. According to the president, e-litigation helps clients observe the litigation process from any corner of the country without coming to Addis using electronics devices. Kemal also said the program increases court accessibility reducing unnecessary trouble. The President further indicated that using telephone interactive voice messaging enables to access information to the court system, adding using the password and court registration number clients can get information on due process of law. Kemal said that the Supreme Court's online system WWW.Federal Supreme Court Gov.Et , a data based entry, displays all the information concerning Ethiopian laws court performance and the state of cases referred to it. Makelle, Bahir Dar, Jimma, Awassa, Harar, Dire Dawa and Assosa towns are among the first round beneficiaries of e-litigation, it was learnt.
